What does a magician do when the audience can’t leave their homes? He brings the magic to them – with a little help from technology.
Binghamton native Alexander Boyce has been performing at the Schorr Family Firehouse Stage in Johnson City for years, but these performances will be just a bit different, as they will take place via Zoom. The performances are scheduled for March 4 and 5, at 6:00pm and 8:00pm both evenings.

“Creating digital content has been a bit of a new experience for us,” said Naima Kradjian, CEO of Goodwill Theatre. “A lot of the skills involved in running live events are not the same skills you use for video production. We’re learning as we go, and so is the audience. This event will be the best of both worlds – as safe as watching a video, but as engaging as being there live.”

Alex Boyce may have started his career in Binghamton, but his fans aren’t just in Broome County. Since earning his degree from New York University, he’s been touring the world, entertaining at famous clubs in NYC, and becoming one of the first American magicians to be invited to perform in Cuba since the revolution. But he’s never forgotten his hometown.
“We are devoted to the live experience, and want to return to having in-person shows as soon as possible,” said Kradjian. “In the meantime, I think Alex can give this community something they already love, but experience it in a brand new way.”
Alexander Boyce is a NYC magician who has performed extensively in the US and around the world. He was the Magic Consultant for the Lincoln Center’s production of “How to Transcend a Happy Marriage” written by Sarah Ruhl and starring Marisa Tomei; as well as the Netflix feature “The Week Of”, starring Adam Sandler and Chris Rock.
